Shannon has focused her professional career on helping adults, children and families impacted by trauma, including through adoption and foster care. Prior to relocating to Dallas in 2014, her clinical work in Louisiana centered on counseling people impacted by Hurricane Katrina and later as a specialized adoption therapist.  Earlier in her social work career, she was the director of a residential and educational program for at-risk youth. 

Shannon is a Certified Theraplay® Therapist, Trainer, and Supervisor-in-Training.  She is also a Internal Family Systems (IFS) Level 1 trained therapist. In addition, she is a Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) practitioner.  ​She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Texas (#61433) and Louisiana (#4300) with a specialized practice serving adults, children and families impacted by trauma, including through adoption and foster care.

She holds Master of Social Work degree and a post-graduate adoption-competent practice certificate from Louisiana State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame.
